Bless Ogundiran Claims Women's 100m Title at Trials

At Nigeria's Commonwealth Games Trials held at the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Bless Ogundiran emerged victorious in the women's 100m event, finishing with an impressive time of 11.12 seconds, making her the fastest female sprinter of the day. Miracl Ezechukwu secured second place with a personal best of 11.15 seconds, although she did not meet the required benchmark for a podium finish.

Olayinka Olajide, a USA-based sprinter, completed the top three with a time of 11.28 seconds. Ogundiran expressed gratitude for her performance, attributing her success to her coach's advice to execute her race without panic.

In the men's shot put, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi won his fifth title with a throw of 21.46 meters. Oyesad Oyetayo triumphed in the hammer throw with a distance of 65.07 meters.

The trials featured various athletes competing in semifinals and finals across multiple events.
