Ashiru Advocates Integrity and Communication in Leadership

Otunba Bimbola Ashiru, the former Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and current Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, asserts that Nigeria is facing governance challenges due to weak public communication and declining trust in institutions. In an interview with Sunday Ehigiator, Ashiru stresses the importance of returning to fundamental leadership values such as integrity, reputation, and effective communication.

He believes that leadership should focus on serving people and creating value rather than personal gain. Ashiru highlights that integrity is crucial for trust and decision-making in leadership.

He calls for a value reorientation in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for honesty, discipline, and accountability. He also suggests that government communication should not solely rely on the President but should involve the entire team to enhance effectiveness and public engagement.
