Asiko Energy Launches Terminal to Cut Cooking Gas Prices

Asiko Energy Holdings is targeting a reduction in cooking gas prices through its newly completed 5000 metric tons Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Propane terminal located in Ijora, Lagos. The terminal features five 1,000MT propane-rated tanks and a 1.7km underground pipeline connecting to three jetty points at Apapa Port.
Managing Director Mr. Felix Ekundayo stated that the facility is designed to receive a wider variety of LPG, including cheaper grades that can be blended to meet market specifications. This initiative aims to make cooking gas more affordable for consumers.
The terminal is equipped with blending skids for inline blending and blending pumps for in-tank blending. The project is financially supported by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF), which Ekundayo credited as a key partner in completing this phase and the next LNG phase.
Chairman of the Asiko Energy Board, Mr. Alex Ogedengbe, noted that the vision for the terminal has been in development for 20 years, representing a national effort to enhance gas accessibility.
