Aston Villa Signs Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG for £47 Million

Aston Villa announced the signing of Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday for a reported fee of £47 million ($63 million). The 18-year-old Mbaye played 31 matches for PSG during the previous season, contributing to the club's victories in both the Champions League and Ligue 1.

He also represented Senegal in the recent World Cup, scoring against France and becoming the youngest African player to score in the men's tournament. Since making his debut for PSG at the age of 16, Mbaye has earned 15 caps for the Senegal national team.

Aston Villa expressed their excitement about acquiring Mbaye, describing him as a bright and promising young talent. This transfer follows a significant period of change at Aston Villa, which recently won the Europa League, ending a 30-year trophy drought, and saw several players, including Morgan Rogers and Emiliano Martinez, leave the club.

Villa's manager, Unai Emery, has also brought in multiple new players during the close season.
