Osun Governorship Candidates Present Plans at Town Hall

At the Arise News town hall in Osogbo, the three main candidates for the Osun State governorship election, scheduled for August 15, engaged in a debate over their records and future plans. Incumbent Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke defended his three-and-a-half-year tenure, claiming significant infrastructure improvements, including the construction of approximately 350 kilometers of roads and the ongoing development of another 150 kilometers.

He emphasized that some roads had been neglected for over 45 years and asserted that his administration had installed solar lights to enhance economic activity. Adeleke dismissed allegations from the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding substandard road construction, stating that certified engineers were employed for the projects.

Bola Oyebamiji, the APC candidate, positioned himself as an expert in investment and public finance, while Dr Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) promised to restore social programs and create 20,000 jobs within his first 100 days if elected.
