Von Batten-Montague-York, a political advisory and lobbying firm based in the United States, explained the removal of a post claiming that its managing partner, Dr. Karl Von Batten, was appointed by US President Donald Trump to a presidential commission. The firm stated that the post was deleted following repeated calls from the Nigerian government to the White House regarding the appointment.

In a statement on its verified X account, the firm indicated that Dr. Von Batten apologized to the White House, not anticipating that the announcement would provoke such communication from Nigerian officials. The firm accused Nigerian President Bola Tinubu of being overly concerned about Von Batten's work related to allegations from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) regarding drug smuggling in the 1980s and 1990s.

The firm also mentioned that Tinubu's spokespersons and Nigeria's Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, had criticized them, predicting further attacks from Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima.
