No Security Breach in Mrs. Akpabio's Senate Visit

Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio, the wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, visited the Senate chamber on Saturday to inspect faulty equipment and facilities. Dr. Jibril Tafida, Special Adviser to the President of the Senate on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), defended the visit, stating it was not unauthorized as claimed by an online publication.

He clarified that the visit was prompted by complaints from senators and staff regarding poor facilities and alleged shoddy work by contractors. Tafida emphasized that the inspection was conducted with the knowledge of relevant National Assembly officials and that no security protocols were breached.

He dismissed claims that Mrs. Akpabio entered with individuals of questionable character, asserting that she was accompanied by qualified engineers and technicians. Tafida urged the public to disregard misinformation and called for media outlets to verify information before publication.

He characterized Mrs. Akpabio as a woman of philanthropy and integrity and stated that the Senate President remains focused on his legislative duties.
