NDC Confirms Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted claims that it does not have governorship candidates in twelve states ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement released on Saturday by the NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the party asserted it has candidates in all 28 states where elections will occur.

Director described the reports as false and malicious, aimed at misleading the public and undermining the party's momentum. The NDC listed its candidates for the twelve states in question: Senator Kabiru Marafa (Zamfara), Rtd Rear Admiral Ibrahim Sanusi Kasim (Borno), Hon. John Odey (Cross River), Babanta Michael Okon (Akwa Ibom), Nwofe Boniface (Ebonyi), Yakubu Solomon Ndam (Plateau), Ilu-Barde Aliyu (Katsina), Alhaji Umar Usman Besse (Kebbi), Jonga Yahaya Gabakau (Yobe), Dutse Aminu Sani (Jigawa), Prof Yahaya Mohammed Sani (Taraba), and Abdu Sidi Bomi (Niger).

The NDC emphasized its national structure and commitment to issue-based politics, urging media outlets to verify their sources to maintain public trust.
