Atlanta Couple Sentenced for $10M Amazon Fraud Scheme

Brittany Hudson, 40, was sentenced to 16 years and three months in federal prison, while her partner Kayricka Wortham, 35, received a 17-year sentence for a fraud scheme that defrauded Amazon of nearly $10 million. The couple was convicted of 30 felony charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering.

Their scheme, which lasted six months starting in January 2022, involved submitting over 1,000 fictitious invoices for fake vendors while Wortham was employed as an operations manager at an Amazon warehouse in Smyrna. This fraudulent activity resulted in more than $9.4 million being transferred to bank accounts controlled by them.

They used the stolen funds to purchase luxury vehicles and a $1 million home. While out on bond in January 2023, they attempted to defraud another company by creating counterfeit court documents with forged signatures from federal judges.

The couple was ordered to pay restitution of $9,469,731.45 to Amazon and forfeit their assets.
