ADC Condemns INEC's Derecognition of Leadership

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of David Mark, held a press conference to address the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) derecognition of its leadership. Mark criticized the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the past three years have seen a decline in democratic freedoms and an increase in poverty and insecurity.

He emphasized the ADC's commitment to preserving democracy in Nigeria, highlighting the need for a coalition of opposition parties to resist what he termed a "relentless assault" on democratic values. The ADC's internal processes led to the formation of a new leadership structure, which was formally reported to INEC on September 9, 2025.

Despite resignations within the party, including that of Nafiu Bala, the ADC is determined to challenge INEC's decisions legally and maintain its status as a political party in Nigeria.
