Tinubu Orders Security Reinforcement at NIPSS After Attack

Following a recent attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered immediate and permanent security reinforcements at the institution. The attack occurred on Monday night, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a policeman.

In response, Tinubu directed the Director General of NIPSS, Professor Ayo Omotayo, to collaborate with the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Nigeria Police Force to fortify the institute's perimeter. The President emphasized the need for a comprehensive action plan and timeline for security reinforcements, which should include surveillance, personnel access control, and emergency systems to be submitted within 72 hours.

Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed condolences to the families of the fallen security personnel and highlighted the importance of NIPSS as a strategic asset for national security. The President assured that the sacrifices of the deceased would not be in vain and that the government would ensure the safety of all staff and participants at the institute.
