Attackers of worshipers during prayer cowards — Katsina govt

The Katsina State Government condemned the recent attack on worshipers in a mosque as cowardly, resulting in the death of 28 people in Malumfashi Local Government. The Acting Governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, expressed sadness over the incident and inaugurated eight new Armoured Personnel Carriers to strengthen the fight against banditry.

The government praised the community's courage in resisting the attackers and freeing 76 kidnapped victims. The state has invested N36 billion in addressing insecurity and boasts one of the highest numbers of security assets in the region, including 43 Armoured Personnel Carriers.

The government emphasized the need for community participation in the fight against insecurity and commended local efforts in providing timely information. The government also sought intervention from the Federal Government and planned to host the Chief of Army Staff for an assessment and additional support.
