Osun SSG Hon. Teslim Igbalaye Arrested for Vote Buying

Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, the Secretary to the Osun State Government, was arrested by the Osun State Police Command for alleged unlawful possession of electoral materials and involvement in vote buying. He was apprehended alongside five others: Akande Taiwo (60), Oladele Abiodun (38), Adeyemo Lukman (45), Olaoye Muftau (50), and Aderemi Musliu (40).

The police operation, led by Public Relations Officer Abiodun Ojelabi, was executed based on credible intelligence about a criminal gang in the Oroki Estate area of Osogbo. The police tracked a wanted suspect, Abiodun Arowomole, to a property linked to Igbalaye.

During the operation, authorities recovered N4,810,500 in cash, a Dynabook laptop, a photocopy machine, a printer, two voter cards, and a voter register covering Wards 1 to 15. The police are investigating the suspects for bribery of voters, criminal conspiracy, and harboring a fugitive.

Ojelabi assured the public of the command's neutrality and commitment to a credible electoral process.
