Osun SSG Teslim Igbalaye Released After Police Arrest

Teslim Igbalaye, the Secretary to the Osun State Government, was released by the Osun State Police Command following his arrest during a police operation at his residence in Osogbo on Wednesday. His release was confirmed on Thursday by both the Osun State Police Command and the Imole Campaign Council, which is managing the re-election campaign of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The police had arrested Igbalaye and five others over allegations related to electoral offences and other criminal activities. Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Osun State Commissioner of Police for facilitating Igbalaye's release.

The police operation was based on credible intelligence regarding suspected criminals at the location, leading to the recovery of N4,810,500 in cash, two Permanent Voter Cards, a voter register, and other materials. The police are investigating the connection of these items to potential electoral offences.
