Police Arrest Osun SSG and Five Others for Electoral Crimes

The Osun State Police Command arrested six individuals, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Teslim Igbalaye, on allegations of electoral offences. The arrests occurred at a residence in Osogbo following intelligence reports about a suspected criminal gang.

Those arrested include Akande Taiwo (60), Oladele Abiodun (38), Adeyemo Lukman (45), Olaoye Muftau (50), and Aderemi Musliu (40). During the operation, police recovered ₦4,810,500 in cash, two Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), a voter register for Wards 1 to 15, a Dynabook laptop, a photocopier, and a printer.

The police stated that the recovered items are undergoing forensic examination as part of ongoing investigations into alleged vote-buying, criminal conspiracy, and harbouring a wanted suspect. The police emphasized that no individual is above the law and that anyone found culpable will face prosecution.
