Australia Issues Travel Entry Guidelines for Foreigners

The Australian government has released official guidance outlining the necessary documentation for foreign travelers entering Australia. Non-citizens must present three key items to immigration officers: a valid passport or acceptable travel document, a valid visa or recognized entry authority (including electronic visas), and a completed and signed Incoming Passenger card that includes health and character declarations.

Arriving without any of these documents can lead to serious consequences, including denial of entry or delays as officers verify identity and entry claims. In contrast, Australian citizens have an automatic right of entry and only need to show a valid Australian passport or acceptable travel document along with a completed Incoming Passenger card.

The guidance also advises dual or multiple passport holders to carry their Australian passport when entering or leaving Australia, even if they have used a foreign passport while traveling abroad. The Department of Home Affairs is available for further assistance regarding travel for dual citizens.
