NAMA Advocates for Increased Revenue Share in Aviation

The House of Representatives Committee on Aviation recently conducted a public hearing concerning the proposed amendment of the statutory revenue-sharing formula for aviation agencies in Nigeria. A significant focus was on the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), which requested an increase in its share of the existing five percent Ticket, Charter and Cargo Sales Charge (TCSC).

NAMA also proposed that obstacle evaluation services and Aviation Height Clearance (AHC) be recognized as technical services, with 90 percent of the fees remitted to NAMA and only 10 percent retained by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). AHC is crucial for aviation safety, ensuring that no structures endanger aircraft operations.
