Nigeria's Aviation Sector Faces Revenue and Sustainability Debate

The 30th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents is set to take place in Lagos on Thursday, addressing the sustainability of Nigeria's aviation industry. The conference will explore how the government can generate necessary revenue without imposing excessive financial burdens on aviation businesses, which could jeopardize their survival and ability to provide affordable services.

The theme, “Towards a Sustainable Aviation Industry: Balancing Government Revenue Demands with Sector Growth,” underscores concerns regarding operational costs, including aviation fuel, multiple levies, foreign exchange issues, and aircraft maintenance. The conference committee emphasized the need for a balance between government revenue policies and creating an attractive environment for investment.
