Aviation Union Condemns NAF Assault on FAAN Official

The Aviation Union has condemned the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for a brutal and unprovoked assault on a senior official of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa. The incident occurred when Eken Ezechukwu, the Deputy General Manager and Head of Operations at the airport, was physically assaulted by armed NAF personnel at a checkpoint near the airport toll gate.

The union, represented by Comrade Ochem Aba, expressed alarm over the repeated incidents of violence against civilians by military personnel at various airports in Nigeria. The union's statement highlighted the need for a complete civic environment and warned that the ongoing uncivil behavior by military personnel has gone unheeded, raising serious concerns about the safety and security of airport workers and civilians.
