Defence Minister Urges Media to Avoid Terrorist Propaganda

On Wednesday, Defence Minister Gen Christoph Musa (rtd) addressed journalists at a strategic meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff and service chiefs, urging the media to avoid amplifying terrorist propaganda. He warned that disseminating such propaganda could demoralize troops and unduly influence public perception of criminal groups.

Musa highlighted the collaboration between the armed forces and security agencies to intensify efforts against terrorism and banditry, noting that military operations have inflicted significant losses on these groups, including the elimination of several commanders and the destruction of assets. He reaffirmed the military's commitment to defeating threats to peace and unity in Nigeria and called for credible information from the public to support ongoing operations.

Musa also assured that the Nigerian federal government, under President Bola Tinubu, is determined to strengthen security efforts to restore peace across the country.
