AWC Applauds Tinubu's Appointment of New Centre Chair

The African Women’s Conference (AWC) has expressed appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's appointment of Dr. Jumai Ahmadu as the new chairman of the governing council of the Maryam Babangida Centre.

The AWC's statement highlighted that the appointees demonstrate a passion for inclusive leadership and women's empowerment. The council consists of notable members including Princess Joan Jummai Idonij as chairman, Ms.

Loi Auta, Hon. Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiye, Hon.

Jumok Okoya, and Hon. Princess Ann Agom Ez.

The AWC commended the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, for her commitment to promoting capable women in strategic leadership positions. The organization emphasized the importance of this appointment in advancing women's participation in governance and entrepreneurship, as well as in developing sustainable policies across Africa.
