Tinubu Appoints Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi as DG

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi as the Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development. This appointment is effective from April 18, 2026, and is in accordance with the provisions of Section 7(1)(3) of the National Centre for Women Development Amendment Act 2023.

The announcement was made through a statement issued by Chri Ugwuegbulam, the Head of Public Relations. The governing council of the Centre, chaired by Princess Joan Jummai Idonij, includes members such as Loi Auta, Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiye, Jumok Okoya Thoma, and Ann Agom Ez.

The council congratulated Benjamins-Laniyi on her appointment and expressed wishes for her success in the role until the appointment of a new Secretary for Women Affairs in the Federal Capital Territory.
