Tinubu Appoints Ms. Adebayo Laniyi as DG of MBNCWD

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ms. Adebayo Benjamin Laniyi as the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD).

This appointment was approved by President Tinubu and is set to take effect on April 18, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of Section 7(1)(3) of the National Centre for Women Development (Amendment) Act 2023. The letter of appointment was signed by Sen.

George Akume, who serves as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and issued to Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, MNI, the Permanent Secretary of the General Services Office.

Additionally, President Tinubu has constituted the members of the Governing Council of the Centre, which includes Princess Joan Jummai Idonij as the Chairman, along with other members such as Ms. Loi Auta, Hon.

Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiye, Hon. Jumok Okoya, and Hon.

Princess Ann Agom-Ez. The President extended his best wishes to Ms.

Laniyi in her new role.
