Ex-Super Falcons Star Urges Tinubu to Reward Team

Patience Avr, a former player of Nigeria's national women's football team, the Super Falcons, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to honor promises made regarding rewards for the team. In a statement issued from the USA, Avr expressed gratitude to Tinubu for fulfilling a land promise to the women's basketball team, D'Tigress, which was a significant motivator for the players.

She urged that similar recognition be extended to the Super Falcons, who have won the African Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) four times. Avr emphasized that rewarding the Super Falcons would not only honor their past achievements but also inspire the current team to excel in international competitions.

She noted that the last time the Super Falcons received recognition was nine years ago, and she is hopeful that the President will soon reward them for their success in the recent WAFCON held in Morocco.
