Federal Polytechnic Ayede Justifies New Principal Appointments

The Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and merit in the recent appointments of principal officers. The newly appointed officials include Dr.

Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo as Acting Rector, Mr. Bukola Dairo as Registrar, Mr.

Oluseyi Afolabi as Bursar, and Mr. Dare Adelek as Acting Librarian.

The council, represented by Chairman Yakubu Dati, noted that the selection process attracted significant interest, with 104 qualified applicants competing for the positions. The council adhered strictly to the Polytechnic Act and guidelines from the Federal Character Commission (FCC), ensuring a balanced representation from different states, including Ogun and Oyo.

The process involved a thorough review of applications and interviews, demonstrating the council's diligence in identifying competent candidates. The council emphasized that the appointments reflect a merit-driven approach and aim to enhance the institution's capacity for private investment and self-sustainability, addressing concerns within the Nigerian higher education system.
