Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Elected NBA President

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya has been elected as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), with the election results announced on Sunday. She received 12,317 votes, which is 47.18% of the total votes cast, ahead of her opponents Lateef Akangbe, who garnered 7,934 votes, and Aar Olumuyiwa Akinboro, who received 5,855 votes.

In her first public statement following the election, Badejo-Okusanya expressed gratitude to the legal community for their support and emphasized her commitment to lead with integrity, courage, and accountability. She acknowledged the challenges faced during the election, including technical issues and allegations of voter disenfranchisement, but maintained that the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) conducted a fair process.

Badejo-Okusanya plans to prioritize the welfare of lawyers and ensure that the NBA becomes a stronger and more inclusive organization. She also expressed appreciation for her campaign team and family for their support throughout her journey.
