Badminton Federation of Nigeria Seeks National Coaches

The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) has announced a call for applications to fill several coaching positions for the national teams, including a permanent head coach, assistant coach, and ad hoc coaches for the senior national team, junior national team, and para badminton team. The application period is open until June 30.

Eligible applicants must possess coaching certification recognized by the Badminton World Federation or the Badminton Confederation of Africa, with higher qualifications being an advantage. Candidates with prior experience representing Nigeria at state or national competitions will be considered favorably.

The federation emphasizes the importance of computer literacy, strong communication, mentoring skills, analytical abilities, and adherence to professional ethics. Applicants must be no older than 55 years at the time of application.

The successful candidates will play a critical role in talent discovery, player development, and overall team management, including designing training programs and conducting performance analysis. Coaches are also expected to serve as mentors and role models, promoting sportsmanship and maintaining a safe training environment.
