Airstrikes in Zamfara Kill Bandit Commander, Disrupt Attack

On July 7, Nigerian airstrikes successfully targeted a large motorcycle convoy of terrorists in Zamfara State, leading to the death of a notorious bandit commander, Alhaji Tukur, the younger brother of bandit kingpin Alhaji Shehu Bagiway. The operation was conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in coordination with ground troops from the Joint Task Force, as they responded to credible intelligence indicating an imminent attack on the community of Kaura Namoda.

Troops engaged in fierce gun battles, successfully repelling the attackers, who suffered significant casualties. During the operation, soldiers neutralized a notorious bandit and recovered weapons, including two AK-47 rifles.

The airstrikes involved three NAF aircraft that tracked the convoy of approximately 300 terrorists, disrupting their plans and neutralizing several of them. The Joint Task Force commended the NAF for its swift intervention, reaffirming its commitment to ongoing offensive operations against terrorist activities in the region.
