Bandits Abduct Couple from Farm in Kaduna State
On Monday, around 9:12 AM, Bitru Jayawa and his wife Martha were abducted by bandits while working on their farm in Katambi Community, Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The couple was reportedly clearing their farm when the attack occurred.
Their three children were present at the scene and spotted the bandits first, prompting them to flee. The bandits seized the parents, leaving the children as witnesses to the abduction.
Following the incident, a community leader confirmed the abduction and requested anonymity. Security operatives were alerted immediately, and troops stationed at Kurutu Junction were dispatched to the farm; however, the bandits had already escaped into the forest with the victims.
Hassan Mansur, a spokesperson for the Kaduna Police Command, has yet to confirm the incident.
