High Court Judge Abducted by Bandits in Kebbi State

Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, a judge of the Kebbi State High Court, was abducted by armed bandits during a midnight attack on his residence in Bunza Local Government Area on Sunday. The incident occurred shortly after he returned from a trip to Sokoto State.

The attackers invaded his home along Zogirma Road, firing gunshots into the air, which caused panic among local residents. A source indicated that no family members were injured during the attack, although the gunmen successfully took Justice Bunza before security forces could intervene.

The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the abduction, with SP Bashir Usman stating that efforts are underway to secure the judge's release. CP Umar Muhammad Hadejia has ordered an immediate response, deploying tactical and intelligence teams to track the kidnappers.

The incident has raised concerns within the judiciary, with officials describing the attack on a serving judicial officer as shocking and deeply disturbing.
