Nigerian Army Rescues Victims Amid Kwara Abduction

A couple was abducted by bandits in Lafiagi, Kwara State, during an attack that occurred around midnight near the Provost Lodge. The victims, identified as a Fulani couple, were taken to an unknown location.

In response, troops from the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, part of the 2 Division, conducted a rescue operation in Egb Yagba West Local Government Area, Kogi State, successfully recovering two victims. The attack on the couple is believed to be linked to ongoing violence targeting Fulani leaders.

The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Adekemi Ojo, confirmed that two women were abducted and a man was killed during a related incident. The Nigerian Army has been actively engaged in countering banditry, with recent operations resulting in the rescue of multiple victims and the neutralization of threats in the region.

The military continues to urge the public to provide credible information to support ongoing security operations.
