Bandits Kill Man, Kidnap Two Women in Kwara Attack

On Monday night, a violent attack occurred in a Fulani settlement in Lafiagi, located in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, where bandits killed a man and kidnapped two women. The incident took place around 8 PM when gunmen stormed the settlement, shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents.

The attack is believed to have targeted a prominent Fulani leader, identified as Ardo, who managed to flee the area. During the assault, a 25 to 35-year-old man, reportedly the husband of the abducted women and a Seriki Fulani, was shot dead.

Adekimi Ojo, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, confirmed the incident and stated that security operatives responded to a distress call, engaging the attackers who retreated into a nearby forest. This incident has heightened concerns regarding insecurity in the Edu Local Government Area, prompting residents to call for intensified security operations against criminal groups operating in Kwara North.
