Terrorists Kill Three, Burn Houses in Niger Community

On April 7, 2026, at approximately 6:30 AM, a terrorist attack occurred in Bagna, a community within the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria. Reports indicate that around 160 terrorists invaded the village, leading to the deaths of three individuals and injuries to at least eight others.

The assailants, who arrived on motorcycles, began firing sporadically and set numerous houses ablaze, creating thick smoke that frightened residents into fleeing in various directions. A spokesman for the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the attack and the fatalities.

Additionally, two members of a joint security team were killed during the confrontation with the terrorists. The situation in the area has since calmed, but monitoring efforts continue as security forces engage with the attackers.
