Bandits Attack Prayer Gathering in Kwara, Worshippers Shot

On Friday night, bandits disrupted a prayer session in Ikiran Village, located in the southern part of Kwara State. The attack occurred around 8:30 PM when gunmen stormed a secluded prayer camp, shooting sporadically and forcing worshippers to flee in different directions amid gunfire.

Several worshippers were reported to have been whisked away by the attackers. As of the report, the identities of the deceased victims had not been officially released.

In response to the incident, the Kwara State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Pastor Adebayo Abiodun and Commissioner of Police Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, confirmed the attack and stated that tactical intelligence teams, including a police drone unit and PMF personnel, were deployed to coordinate rescue missions. The police condemned the attack as barbaric and unacceptable, assuring residents that efforts were ongoing to rescue the abducted victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
