Bandits Kill 3, Abduct 15 Worshippers in Kwara Attack

On May 23, 2026, armed bandits attacked a prayer ground in Ikiran Village, Ekiti Local Government Area, Kwara State, during a night vigil led by Pastor Adebayo Abiodun. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM, resulting in the death of three individuals and the abduction of 15 others.

Following the distress report, the Kwara State Police Command, under the leadership of Mr. Adekimi Ojo, mobilized a tactical team, including a drone unit, to the scene for a comprehensive rescue operation.

The police described the attack as barbaric and unacceptable, assuring families of the deceased and abducted victims that efforts were underway to rescue the hostages and apprehend the perpetrators. The command urged the public to remain calm and support ongoing operations with credible information.
