Bandits Kill 5 Forest Guards in Kwara Attack

In a tragic incident in Kwara, bandits attacked a security formation at 3:00 AM, resulting in the deaths of five forest guards. The assailants reportedly stormed the agrarian community, firing sporadically and setting patrol vehicles ablaze.

The local police command confirmed the attack, with Police Mobile Force personnel successfully repelling the attackers, although they could not prevent the fatalities. No kidnappings were reported during this assault.

Adekimi Ojo, a police commissioner, noted that the poor condition of roads linking the area to Niger State hampers security operations, allowing bandits to exploit the situation. The police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.

The police have urged the public to assist in ongoing investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice.
