Vigilante Leader Abducted by Bandits in Rivers State

On Friday, a vigilante leader known as Ohahuru was abducted by bandits in the IPO Community of Ikwerr Local Government Area, Rivers State. The incident unfolded during a gun battle when a team of vigilantes, responding to reports of strange individuals in the bush, encountered heavy gunfire from the assailants.

The local vigilante chairman mobilized a security plan, codenamed ISPAC, to address the situation. Despite the efforts of the vigilante team and police officers, they faced stiff opposition from the bandits, who were armed with sophisticated weapons.

The whereabouts of the abducted leader remain unknown as of Saturday, raising concerns among residents about the increasing insecurity in the area, which has seen a rise in cult-related violence and kidnappings. Bless Agab, a spokesperson for the state police command, stated that investigations are ongoing to clarify the situation, but no clear picture has emerged yet.
