Bandits Kill One, Abduct Four in Bauchi Village Attack

In a recent attack in Kagadama village, Bauchi State, bandits killed one individual and abducted four others, demanding a ransom of N50 million for their release. The first victim, a pharmacy owner, was taken in the presence of his family.

Maryam Bagel, a former member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and a representative aspirant, raised the alarm about the incident in a Facebook post on Wednesday, describing the attack as disturbing and calling for urgent intervention from security agencies. She reported that the attack occurred on a Tuesday, with the assailants returning to the village less than a week later to target another resident, Shahibi, who had previously been kidnapped.

During the attack, Shahibi was shot multiple times in front of his wife and children. Bagel also mentioned that a shop owner narrowly escaped an abduction attempt.

She urged the government to ensure that the area does not fall into the hands of criminal elements and expressed hope that Bauchi State would not experience a resurgence of widespread kidnapping incidents. The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed that efforts were underway to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
