Bandits Kill 11 in Sokoto State Attacks

In Sokoto State, Nigeria, bandit attacks resulted in the deaths of at least 11 individuals across Rabah and Sabon Birni local government areas. The most recent incident occurred on Monday in Maikujera village, where seven people were killed, including two operatives of the Sokoto Community Guard Corps (SCGC).

Additionally, three women were killed in nearby Angamba village during the same attack. This violence followed an earlier assault on Unguwan Lalle community, where four people were killed by bandits disguised in military uniforms.

The attackers, estimated to be around 200 and arriving on over 30 motorcycles, looted homes and livestock while shooting at residents. A police officer indicated that the attackers came from Bakura in Zamfara State and that local security forces were overwhelmed.

The SCGC operative mentioned the lack of adequate logistics and resources, including armoured vehicles and ammunition, which hindered their response to the attacks. The Sokoto State Police Command confirmed the incidents but had limited details on the attacks.
