Bandits Kill Two Police Officers at Kebbi Checkpoint

On a recent date, bandits attacked a police checkpoint along the Bakin Ruwa Maje border road in Kebbi, Nigeria, resulting in the deaths of two police officers on duty. The assailants arrived in large numbers and opened fire indiscriminately, overwhelming the officers at the checkpoint.

Following the assault, the gunmen set the officers' tent ablaze and fled the scene. The incident was confirmed by Bashir Usman, the spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command.

This attack is part of a troubling trend, as it marks the third assault on security personnel in the Bakin Ruwa Maje border corridor, with a previous attack reported to have killed five personnel from the Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria Immigration Service in the Bagudo Local Government Area a few months prior.
