Gunmen Kill Two Policemen in Kebbi State Attack

On Thursday morning, suspected Lakurawa gunmen attacked a police checkpoint located at Bakinruwa Maje in the Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State, resulting in the deaths of two policemen. Eyewitnesses reported that a large number of gunmen stormed the checkpoint, overpowering the officers who were on routine duty.

The attackers killed the policemen and subsequently set the checkpoint on fire. The Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, Bashir Usman, confirmed the incident, stating that the attack was the third reported in the area along the Bakinruwa Maje border corridor in recent months.

Previous attacks in the region have also targeted personnel from the Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria Immigration Service, raising security concerns among local residents. Authorities have intensified surveillance and patrols in the area to prevent further attacks and to track down the perpetrators.
