Bandits Kill 24 in Katsina State Amid Rising Insecurity

In a series of violent attacks in Katsina State, bandits killed 24 individuals, including seven traders at Jikamshi Market. The assailants, armed men on motorcycles, opened fire and looted goods worth millions of naira.

Ashiru, a trader, was also killed, leaving her family in a state of uncertainty. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) confirmed the attacks, describing them as devastating and calling for urgent intervention from the government.

The violence escalated with reports of 11 people killed in Gwalgoro Village during a retaliatory attack. Local security forces engaged the bandits, neutralizing several members of the gang and recovering stolen items.

The situation has raised concerns about the safety of residents and the need for increased military and financial support from the federal government to combat the growing insecurity in the region.
