Bandits Kill Man, Abduct Wives of Fulani Leader in Kwara

On Monday night, armed men attacked a Fulani settlement in the Sodo Sawmil area on the outskirts of Lafiagi, Kwara State, specifically targeting a prominent Fulani leader. The attack began around 8 PM, with gunmen shooting sporadically, which caused panic among the villagers.

During the incident, a man was reported killed, and two women, aged 25 and 35, identified as the wives of the Fulani leader, were abducted. Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, confirmed the attack, stating that it appeared to be a targeted operation against the Fulani leader, identified as Ardo.

Security personnel responded to the distress call but were forced to retreat into nearby forests. This incident adds to the growing security concerns in the region, which has witnessed repeated attacks and kidnappings by armed groups in recent months, prompting residents to call for a stronger security presence and intensified surveillance.
