Barau Jibrin to Distribute 53,040 Fertilizer Bags in Kano

Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, has finalized arrangements to distribute 53,040 bags of fertilizer to farmers in the Kano North Senatorial District. This initiative aims to support beneficiaries across 13 local government areas ahead of the 2026 farming season.

The distribution will involve 88 trucks of fertilizer, expected to commence on May 31, 2026. A statement issued on Saturday by Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, indicated that this annual fertilizer distribution is part of Barau's efforts to support farmers, boost agricultural production, and contribute to food security across the country.

Beneficiaries include local government chairmen, vice chairmen, councillors, secretaries, members of the APC caucus, village heads, ward heads, headmasters, and social media influencers. The initiative aims to improve crop yield and ensure food sufficiency, complementing President Bola Tinubu's efforts toward achieving national food security.

The Senate urged beneficiaries to utilize the fertilizer properly to achieve the intended objectives.
