Kano Governor Launches Fertilizer Distribution for 2026

On Thursday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State officially flagged off the distribution of fertilizers for the 2026 farming season. The ceremony took place in Kano, where the state government is distributing 150 trailers of fertilizers to beneficiaries across 44 local government areas.

This initiative is part of the governor's commitment to fulfill campaign promises made to the people over the past three years. Governor Yusuf warned against the potential diversion of fertilizers by individuals for personal use, asserting that the government will take action against anyone found guilty of such corrupt practices.

He acknowledged the challenges in monitoring the distribution process but reiterated that the state government will not tolerate any form of corruption. The governor also expressed optimism that the recent successful rainfall would contribute to a bumper harvest, aligning with the government's agricultural goals.
