Ganduje and Bichi Meet Shettima Amid Kano North Tensions

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former National Chairman of the APC, and Abubakar Kabir Bichi, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, held a meeting with Shettima in Abuja on Monday. This meeting was disclosed by Gwarzo on his official Facebook page and focused on political affairs in Kano North.

Gwarzo is contesting for the Senate seat currently occupied by Barau, the Deputy Senate President. Gwarzo, who is a former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development and an ex-Deputy Governor of Kano, purchased the APC nomination form last month and has vowed to provide credible representation for the zone.

His entry into the race has heightened intra-party tensions, as he alleges that Barau orchestrated his disqualification from previous primaries. Gwarzo believes the meeting signals an attempt to consolidate support within the APC hierarchy to strengthen his position ahead of the primaries scheduled for May 18.

Ganduje and Bichi are influential figures whose backing could bolster Gwarzo's chances.
