Nnaji's 70th Birthday Sparks Palm Wine Innovation Challenge

Bart Nnaji celebrated his 70th birthday on a Friday in Enugu, where he moderated a ‘fireside chat’ with former President Olusegun Obasanjo. A significant aspect of the celebration was the 'Bart Nnaji Innovation Challenge,' which sought solutions to safely harvest palm wine without climbing trees, addressing the dangers faced by palm wine tappers.

The challenge attracted 393 entries, with Anthony Mbadiwe and Stephen Awotundun sharing the grand prize of N10 million, while Favour Ojowundu received N2 million as the runner-up. The committee was chaired by Professor Adedeji Badiru from the USA Air Force Institute of Technology.

The event also featured notable attendees, including Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, who delivered a keynote speech, and other dignitaries such as former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and Enugu Governor Peter Mbah.
