Ruth Owojaiye Appointed Regulatory Affairs Director at BAT Nigeria

British American Tobacco Nigeria has appointed Ruth Owojaiye as the Regulatory Affairs Director. This strategic move is intended to strengthen the company's engagement with government and regulatory bodies, ensuring sustainable business practices.

Owojaiye will provide strategic direction across government relations and public policy while engaging stakeholders. Yarub Al Bahrani, the Managing Director of BAT Nigeria, commented on the appointment, emphasizing the company's commitment to reinforcing its leadership in corporate governance and regulatory affairs.

Owojaiye brings over two decades of experience, having previously held senior positions at Nigerian Breweries PLC and KPMG Nigeria. She played a significant role in a landmark tax appeal case and has expertise in various areas, including taxation and public policy.

Owojaiye holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Ilorin and a Master of Law degree from the University of Pretoria, along with an MBA from Lagos Business School. She is also committed to mentoring young professionals within and outside the organization.
