Bauchi State Allocates N112.7 Billion for Education in 2026

The Bauchi State Government has announced a plan to spend N112.7 billion on education in 2026, as disclosed by Governor Bala Mohammed during the combined eighth, ninth, and tenth convocation ceremonies at Gadau University. This funding is part of the state's ongoing efforts to enhance learning infrastructure, support staff, and improve student welfare.

The allocation represents 15% of the state's annual budget for education, aimed at strengthening access to learning outcomes and infrastructure across all educational levels. The budget will also support primary and secondary education, teacher welfare, and learning materials.

Specific projects funded will include the construction of 20 new classrooms, student hostels, and staff quarters at Gadau University, as well as security improvement initiatives. This initiative aims to address significant educational challenges in Bauchi State, where a considerable number of children are affected by educational gaps, and to strengthen human capital development for local and national economic contributions.
