Bauchi Commissioner Zaki Resigns to Contest Senate Seat

Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Water Resources, has officially resigned from his position to pursue a Senate seat in the Bauchi Central Senatorial District for the 2027 general elections. In a resignation letter addressed to the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Zaki attributed his decision to political ambitions ahead of the elections.

His resignation will take effect on March 31, 2026, aligning with the guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding candidacy. Zaki expressed gratitude to Governor Mohammed for the opportunity to serve in the cabinet and acknowledged the support he received during his tenure.
